Does anyone know how to stop oil from splattering while cooking? Other than using a splatter guard?

I mean, is there anything you can maybe add to the oil which would stop it spitting the way it does?Does anyone know how to stop oil from splattering while cooking? Other than using a splatter guard?
There are three potential reasons your oil is splattering. 1) When you try to cook frozen items in oil, the contact of the oil with the frozen water crystals causes a violent reaction. 2) If the item is not frozen and it is splattering, it is because the temperature of the oil is too high, you need to turn the heat down. 3) When cooking with oil, try to use a heavy pan that distributes the heat and holds the heat. This will help. Using a thin aluminum type of pan can cause hot spots, and will create splatter problems as well. I hope this helps. - BrianDoes anyone know how to stop oil from splattering while cooking? Other than using a splatter guard?
Good question. Let me know if you find the answer. I need to know also because I cook all the meals in the house for my girlfriend.
