why we continue to depend from saudi arabia for oil? when we are going to stop buying oil from saudi arabia? why the politicians doesnt have a plan? why they are refusing to help the american people? Why the politicians cannot stop buying oil from Saudi Arabia? who is profiting from this?
As I agree it would be great if the U.S.A. didn't have to depend on ANY foreign oil, it is somewhat of a fallacy that the U.S. receives all or a majority of its oil from Saudi Arabia.
The U.S. produces approximately 40% of its own oil leaving 60% of our oil to be supplied by foreign markets.
The United States two closest neighbors, Canada and Mexico make up about 35% of the 60% remaining supply. After that is Venezuela and Saudi Arabia and a host of many other countries. The United States actually gets near as much oil from Africa as from the Middle East.
Contrary to popular belief, the U.S. has very diverse oil interests all over the world, and receives oil and petroleum products from almost every continent on Earth. Why the politicians cannot stop buying oil from Saudi Arabia? who is profiting from this?
We keep buying oil from Saudi because that is where the reserves are. US has a few reserves but they are in protected regions. There is consideration of drilling near the Rocky Mountains. Also Brazil has discovered billions of gallons worth of crude oil underwater but it will take a long time to figure out how to drill from hundreds of feet below sea level. At this point Saudi Arabia and oil industries are profiting. The gas stations are claiming they make as little as 3 cents per gallon credit card purchases for gas. But honestly, the rates of fuel change per gallon, and the prices dip sometimes, but the gas stations don't change there prices to reflect these costs.
The Democrats refuse to allow us to use offshore drilling. 80% of the world's oil is just off our coast. The reason being, is that then they have something to throw back at President Bush and other Republicans to spread dissent about the war, which is no more about oil than WWII was about cars and cheap electronics. Gas prices rise because the demand increases and the supply decreases. This is how they win elections. It's sort of like sabotage. They make things go wrong and then blame President Bush, which not only looks bad on him but his whole party, and then people want to vote for all this stupid ';change';. Little do they know, that ';change'; is not the kind of change any freedom-loving American wants.
Aren't they the biggest suppliers? What we need to do it stop being so dependent on oil...... why does the US use so much? Don't we use something like 25% of the worlds supply?
They don't help the American people because they themselves profit from our dependence on oil.
They continue to buy it from Saudi Arabia because we do not want to pay $10 a gallon. Until we come up with an alternative source we need the oil in Saudi Arabia.
Have you seen the Robin Williams take on what's going on these days? He suggests offering the Saudi's $10 a barrel for oil and we'll go elsewhere if they don't take it. I'll bet they would take it!
Whether they know it or not, the oil in Saudi Arabia is really the property of the UxSxA. They are just holding it for us =)
