02 mitsubishi eclipse oil light fickering at idle or stop light?

when i give it a little gas it goes right away why does it do this is something wrong?02 mitsubishi eclipse oil light fickering at idle or stop light?
You should check the oil every time you fill the gas tank. Old cars need to have oil added, mine needs 1 qt every 2 months.

The oil pressure is low because there isn't enough oil. Once the engine runs higher the oil pressure rises enough to shut off the light.

This could get serious. Check that oil right away!02 mitsubishi eclipse oil light fickering at idle or stop light?
I KNOW WITH MY CAR THERE ARE SOME ELECTRICAL ISSUES AND SOME TIMES THERE ARE SHORTS THAT COULD BE SETTING IT OFF.

THINGS IT COULD BE

1 YOUR OIL PUMP

2 THE OIL IS LOW

3 A SHORT THAT IS MAKING IT GO OFF

I BET IF YOU LOOK AT ALL THREE YOU WILL FIND THE ISSUE
this happend to my new chevy. you have the wrong weight of oil in the car.my cap siad 5-30 and it did it.changed to 10-30 and no problems.
Have you checked the oil lately? It might be low.
