It seems like a ruse. It looks like a good thing that big oil wasn't taxed, cuz nobody likes taxes, right? So no new taxes? Then cut their subsidies and tax breaks!!Why doesn't congress just stop big oil subsidies and tax breaks instead of taxing them?
Oil companies also want to make as much $ as possible and not have to pay any taxes. They also have too much power over lobbyists in Congress for something like that to work.

The republicans just voted against the bill...heres why...the big oil company's filled the pockets of the lobbyist and made huge contributions to a great majority of republican senatorial elections and still pay them well to this day....figure out the rest

Never mind. What's the difference. It all balances out, but the Republicans won't have it. They are owned by these SOB's. They have to go.
The Republicans won't let that through either. The Republicans don't want big oil touched in any way that might cause them to lose a cent, even if it is our taxpayer money that they would have to give up.
How about also getting rid of farm subsidies.
