If the United States went to war with Iraq for oil, why did we not stop Iraq from giving China the first ?

China was given the first drilling contract.

But wait, I thought Iraq was all about the United States getting oil.If the United States went to war with Iraq for oil, why did we not stop Iraq from giving China the first ?
because my dear, you must look at the whole picture. who the heck do you think is funding the Iraq war? that's right China- we are just looking out for our own interests by letting China have the first drilling contract.

and picking Iraq to war with for oil,was frikken stupid, we should have chosen Velenzuela. those ba$tards only pay something like 12 cents a gallon for gas,and the country is much closer to homeIf the United States went to war with Iraq for oil, why did we not stop Iraq from giving China the first ?
The U.S. did stop the original contract China had with the Iraqis.

The original SIGNED contract before the U.S. invasion was to ';share profit';. It was canceled ';naturally'; after the U.S. overthrew the Iraqi government and set up a puppet one.

Now the new contact only pays China for the construction fees and only $6 per barrel...it's a rip off compare to the original one. But China still accepted because it's better than no contract at all.

The U.S. had already stolen tons of oil from Iraq. On the top of that, you are making Iraqi puppet government paying for the gas fees the U.S. occupation troops uses. Next thing will be asking them to pay for the bombs you drop on their homes...

Besides, you didn't look at the bigger picture.

Now the U.S. is in the position of cutting off oil to China at any time...in case the U.S. decide it's time to attack China.
Like most neo-cons, you miss the point. The US did not go into Iraq for its oil, as some would love to believe. They attacked Iraq so that we could deploy more of our armed services and use up ammo, equipment, etc. thereby increasing the war machines intake of government funding. Also, to help Cheney's buddies at Halliburton to get tons of no-bid contracts and make even more money. That's where most people got it wrong, they didn't go into Iraq to steal their money, they went into Iraq to steal OURS!
Simple, China has money. The U.S. has it's military right next to the wells. We have what we wanted.... control. This is not a bad situation. The majority of the Hijackers came from Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia has the largest oil reserves in the world. These attacks are a sign of instability within Saudi Arabia. Therefore it was prudent to gain control of the second largest oil reserve in the world...Iraq. The problem is we were not sure the world would agree with this idea. Therefore, GW made up a bunch of Bull$#!+ and sold it to everyone.

The other problem was, we had no plan to maintain control after the overthrow of Saddam.
Iraq's oil resources were turned over to the Iraqi people and its government. It's all detailed in the Iraqi Oil Law: Iraq controls its oil, Iraq decides who gets contracts, Iraq has not chosen American companies for a single contract yet.
';giving'; ?

no one gives away anything in this world.

(except bush, he gave Iraq about one trillion of our tax dollars in goods and services)
Because oil wasn't the main reason. A perpetual war on terror was that ultimate goal.
Because we didn't go to war over oil, we went to war for other reasons.
It's not about who ';gets'; the oil, but who controls it...
corrupt and incompetent
Because we're both corrupt AND incompetent.
