If it is a single wire sender unit (on the block somewhere) Unplug ithe wire and ground it to the engine, turn on the key. The oil pressure should peg out, turn the key back off, don't keep the key on long with the wire grounded. You may ruin the gauge. I would hook a mechanical guage up. That means find the oil sending unit and unscrew it from the block. hook up a line and pressure guage right there and start the engine to see if the car has a oil pressure problem or a guage problem. That will tell you which way to go as far as a repair
