What will it take to stop American oil companies from stealing oil from the Middle East?

zillion quadrillion billions in bribesWhat will it take to stop American oil companies from stealing oil from the Middle East?
';Stealing';?!?!?!? Who gave you that idea? The Donald Duck Times??? Oil companies whether American or other, ARE PAYING CUSTOMERS!!! Furthermore, only 21.69% of Americas ';purchased'; oil comes from the Middle East!! Your question only corroborates that ignorance and stupidity are all to prevalent these days. What will it take to stop American oil companies from stealing oil from the Middle East?
Americans created the oil industry back in the 1860s, and American oil companies exported this industry to other areas of the world, including the Middle East, so they probably don't consider it stealing in the first place, and they probably won't stop anytime soon. At least until the oil is gone. It is also hard to consider it stealing when you consider how dearly and how much everyone is paying for oil.
getting their butts beat by 1960's and 1970's small arms by a popular uprising as is happening in iraq just now. if some foreign devils came to america to rape their resources, the americans would surely fight back too
Man, that is an amazingly ignorant question. American oil companies do not ';steal'; oil from the Middle East, they buy it from the nations that export it. In some cases, they are contracted by those nations to pump it, refine it, and produce products from it, but they are in all cases paying for the oil that they pump to the government or nationalized industrial partner. How do you think the Saudi royal family got to be so rich?

Does the oil industry make a profit off of the oil they produce, refince and sell? Yes. That is how business works. In a capitalist system, our best bet is to buy oil from the companies that sell it for the lowest price, to ensure that competitive pressures work to the advantage of the most efficient producers (and to our own pocketbooks).

Does American foreign policy revolve heavily around access to oil in the Middle East? Yes, and well it should. The engine of our economy, like it or not, runs on oil and gas, and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. Neither you or I created this situation, but it is a reality. If we lost access to oil and gas, this country would collapse. We can't permit that to happen.

Do the oil companies have undue influence on our government? Maybe they do. George Bush is no prize, but I can guarantee you that no matter who is president, the best thing that they can do is make sure that we continue to have access to affordable supplies of oil and gas, until there is a workable alternative. The sooner the better, of course.

If you want to create an environment that marginalizes the oil companies, support alternative forms of energy like hydrogen, ethanol, nuclear power and renewables. Grow up and realize that we have to do things differently, but in the meantime we are not going to cut our own legs off to do it.
How can you say we're stealing it with those prices at the gas pumps? Government does have to pay for that oil and they're not getting it for free...or even cheap.

Besides, it is up to Congress to let our oil companies take care of business at home. That's actually where we need to be, is with the Senate leaders who are blocking exploration of our own oil. We have hundreds and hundreds of sources, but the oil corporations have been blocked from seeking oil.

So, I guess if we want to do some good, we should start badgering Congressional leaders to let up on those restrictions. We don't need foreign oil...we just need to find more here (which there is plenty.)
u idiot
STEALING? If there were no demand for the oil, there would be no buying and selling of it. What kind of stupid question is this? Why do you think only American oil companies are getting the oil?
Americans who stop misusing and burning up so much oil. Of course that would ruin the economy of the Middle East in the process.

BTW - there are plenty of European companies ';stealing'; oil too, not to mention the Chinese.
impeachment of bush , cheny %26amp; halliburton
Ooh that's a great story. Us professional liberal reporters do not care if its true. Kudos.
What evidence do you have that they are stealing it I understand that in 2005 they filled up the national reserve...But they purchased and traded for it, I do believe the guy who owns the football decides when the game is over so if we owned any of that land we wouldnt pay a dime for that oil.
when they do stop BUYING oil and Europe too you will be in the shyt big time, you will have to go back to your tents and holes in the ground for a shyt.
